Our osteopath Frigyes Vanden Auweele strengthens the medical staff of RSC Anderlecht from January

Frigyes joins the medical staff of RSC Anderlecht as a consultant. In this role, he will support the first team by maintaining and optimizing the players’ physical function and mobility, with a strong focus on injury prevention and performance optimization.

Frigyes Vanden Auweele brings more than 20 years of experience in high-performance sports osteopathy. He has previously worked with international top clubs and teams, including Liverpool FC and the UCI WorldTour cycling team Lidl-Trek. In Belgium, he is also a well-established figure in the sports medicine field, having held positions with OHL and VHL. This role is currently continued by fellow osteopaths Jelle Ceuleers and Bert Mensaert.

Alongside his engagement with RSC Anderlecht, Frigyes remains active at LMent, where he treats and supports elite athletes from a wide range of sports disciplines using a specialized, evidence-based osteopathic approach. In addition, he continues to be part of the medical staff of the Belgian Red Devils, in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This new collaboration with RSC Anderlecht represents an exciting professional challenge, to which Frigyes will dedicate himself with full commitment and expertise.





Welcome Caroline Maes!

Caroline Maes, Osteopath D.O. with more than 25 years of clinical experience, will be joining the team at LMent – Center for Osteopathy in Leuven starting January 5. She will be taking over the position of Oliva, who is leaving the practice.

Prevention of Hamstring Injuries: Check the Sciatic Nerve!

To prevent hamstring injuries, optimal mobility of the pelvis, hips, and lower back is essential for maintaining proper sciatic nerve function. Elevated neurological tone in the sciatic nerve can contribute to increased pre-tension in the hamstrings, potentially predisposing them to injury when combined with sport-specific loading. The hamstrings are 'pre-loaded'.
